Oxford County is following a prequalification process for General Contractors. The Burgessville Urbanization project consists of approximately 1.2 km of Church Street (Oxford Road 59) from the west limits of the community to the east limits of community. The existing roadway has a 2-lane cross-section with a gravel / paved shoulder and a combination of ditches, storm sewers and municipal drains for drainage. The County is pursuing to improve overall drainage by changing the existing two-lane rural cross-section to a two-lane urban cross-section with sidewalks on both sides of the road and filling of ditches where considered feasible. This project also includes installation of a section of sidewalk on Deere Crescent and a 120m section of Smiths Lane on the east side of village. |
