In anticipation of a future RFP, the County is issuing this Expression of Interest to non-profit and private sector organizations interested in creating affordable rental housing at 175 Springbank Avenue North, Woodstock. The County is seeking feedback on respondent’s ideas, concepts and/or specific responses, to create new affordable housing for low and moderate income seniors at the identified location. These proposals will assist to define the parameters of a future RFP. 

At this time, the County is proposing to contribute the value of the land located at 175 Springbank Avenue North, Woodstock, the value of development charges (affordable housing units only) and up to $1,200,000 in capital funding to support the development of new affordable rental housing units. The total amount of capital funding will depend on the number of affordable units proposed. Additional funding may be available depending on the proposals that are received. 

It should also be noted that a rent supplement fund is available to provide each tenant of an affordable unit with a minimum of $150.00 per month. It is expected that this fund will be available for a minimum of 10 years. 

The County will review all submissions to gauge the interest from relevant proponents, and determine the variety of proposals that may be feasible on the identified site. An RFP will be issued when the County has considered the submitted proposals and determines the best and most efficient use of the lands. 

The County reserves the right to take no further action on this call for Expression of Interest and this EOI does not indicate that an RFP will follow.
