The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to solicit prospective non-profit housing providers (including non-profit cooperatives) and private organizations, to submit proposals for the development of an affordable housing project at 175 Springbank Avenue North, in the City of Woodstock (Appendix 7). The subject property is located on the northwest corner of Springbank Avenue North and Braeside Street (as shown on Attachment 1) and comprises approximately 0.6 ha (1.5 ac). The site is currently occupied by the existing church and two parking areas. In support of an affordable housing project, the County is considering contributing the value of the land located at 175 Springbank Avenue Woodstock, the value of the development charges (affordable housing units only) and up to $1,200,000 in capital funding to support the development of new affordable rental housing units. Additional Federal/Provincial funding under the Canada-Ontario Community Housing Initiative (COCHI) program, in an amount up to $425,000 may also be available to support the creation of affordable units (for non-profit proponents).
