Description: 

The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to solicit prospective non-profit housing providers (including non-profit cooperatives) and private organizations, to submit proposals for the development of an affordable housing project at 175 Springbank Avenue North, in the City of Woodstock (Appendix 7). The subject property is located on the northwest corner of Springbank Avenue North and Braeside Street (as shown on Attachment 1) and comprises approximately 0.6 ha (1.5 ac). 

This RFP invites proponents to submit proposals to construct a multi-residential affordable housing development, with 40 to 45 units. The proposed development shall be comprised of a mix of affordable/market rental housing units for seniors and women with children (i.e. market rent). 

In support of an affordable housing project, the County is considering the following contribution to support the development of new affordable rental housing units:

  • Value of the land located at 175 Springbank Avenue Woodstock;
  • Value of development charges;
  • Up to $1,200,000 in Municipal capital funding;
  • Additional Provincial funding (OPHI), in an amount up to $477,565;
  • Additional Federal/Provincial funding (COCHI), in an amount up to $633,935;
  • Rent supplement fund in the amount of $700,000 to provide each tenant of an affordable unit with a maximum of $150.00 per month.
